Your first full day in Peru’s capital city includes a visit to admire the treasures of Lima’s Larco Museum, before a walking tour in Colonial Downtown. Lunch comes courtesy of a live cooking demo at a top Lima restaurant, before an exploration of the bohemian Barranco District – known for its colorful streets and independent art studios
Next on this tour of Peru’s unmissable sites comes Cusco and the Sacred Valley, for some of the most iconic wonders in South America. You’ll fly to Cusco from the capital, where an Atelier concierge will be waiting to take you from Cusco Airport to your boutique hotel in the Sacred Valley for check-in.
Begin your tour of the magical Sacred Valley at the perfectly preserved ruins of Moray and Ollantaytambo, before exploring the stunning salt pools of Maras for a real trip back in time. These hillside pools have been used to extract salt in the same way since ancient times. After a gourmet picnic amongst the stunning surrounds of the Sacred Valley, you’ll be taken back to your hotel for another night in this mythical region of Peru.
Often voted the World’s Top Travel Destination, day 5 of your tour takes you to Machu Picchu, a place that has captured the imagination of countless visitors over the years. Once here, it’s easy to see why. You’ll get to enjoy The Lost City on a private guided tour, before having free time to explore on your own, taking in those Sacred Valley views all the while. Later, return to Cusco by rail on one of the most scenic train journeys in South America.
The iconic sites and cultural highlights in and around Cusco are endless, with day 6 of your tour taking in some of the finest. Begin with a tour of Downtown Cusco, the markets, famous Cathedral and hidden alleyways before a trip to the sensational archeological sites of Qorikancha Temple and the Sacsayhuaman Complex. Finish the day back in Cusco for plenty of fine dining restaurants.
As your trip comes to a close, an Atelier concierge will take you to Cusco Airport in time for your onward flight to Lima and home, full of priceless memories of Peru.
