D1 Caminito - Buenos Aires - Atelier South America

Day 1 | Buenos Aires

Upon arrival, you’ll be met by an Atelier driver/concierge who will help you through the airport and onwards to your boutique Buenos Aires hotel for check-in. Depending on the time of your flight, there may be chance to see some of the city like Plaza de Mayo or the Palacio Barolo, before a true Argentine experience this evening with dinner and a tango show.

Day 2 | Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is an intoxicating city, and the perfect place to start your first full day of this Argentina tour. Full of history, art and differing districts, a tour of Buenos Aires is a great introduction to Argentinian culture. You’ll have chance to visit the bohemian neighborhood of La Boca and the coffee shops of Palermo, stroll the upmarket streets of Recoleta or Tres de Febrero Park. There are Japanese Gardens to escape the crowds, as well as historical highlights of Buenos Aires like the Cathedral or beguiling Recoleta Cemetery. Day 3 | Buenos Aires/Ushuaia

Your Atelier concierge will take you to the airport in time for a flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, where you’ll be collected and taken to your boutique hotel for check-in. D4 Beagle Channel, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego - Atelier South America

Day 4 | Ushuaia

Before embarking on your exclusive Patagonia cruise, time will be spent admiring Tierra del Fuego National Park, one of the most spectacular landscapes in Argentina. This is a place of glacial lakes, snow-dusted mountains and incredible hiking routes. Beyond Ushuaia lies the South pole, and you’ll see those frontier waters from a bay facing the Beagle Channel, as well as the lenga forests, rivers and plains which surround Ushuaia. Later, arrive at the Port of Ushuaia to board the Australis cruise vessel and settle into your cabin, with 4 days of pure Patagonian adventure ahead. Day 5 | Australis Cruise

The first full day of this Australis Patagonia cruise sails the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay, heading towards the iconic Cape Horn National Park through little-visited waterways. Cape Horn is notorious amongst sailors for its formidable weather and waters, and you’ll see why with a first stop to walk this wild and remote coastline. After breakfast, you’ll sail through the Beagle Channel to the Pía Fjord for disembarkation, and a scenic walk to the Pía Glacier viewpoint. It’s a beautiful route, leading to today’s outdoor adventures which include a Zodiac boat ride across the Águila Glacier Lagoon, as well as a tour of Condor Glacier and the surrounding terrain. Day 8 | Australis Cruise

From giant glaciers to loveable penguins, this morning you’ll stop at Magdalena Island to disembark in search of the large Magellanic Penguins who claim this island as their own. These endangered animals are a joy to behold in their natural habitat, the ideal end to your Patagonian cruise before heading back to the ship and onward to Puerto Natales, the final stop. Upon landing, your Atelier concierge will collect you from the port and take you to a luxury Puerto Natales hotel for check-in, and an evening at leisure. NOTE: In September and April, the morning excursion to Magdalena Island will be replaced with a visit to Marta Island, witnessing its large population of South American Sea Lions.

D9 Torres del Paine - Patagonia - Atelier South America

Day 9 | Torres del Paine

Torres del Paine National Park is a dream. This rugged and untouched terrain is ideal for outdoor activities aplenty. From your lodge, gear up for mountain biking tours, hiking and climbing routes, horse riding or kayaking. You could opt for a full-day hike to explore the National Park, or visit iconic sites like the Grey Glacier, Sarmiento and Toro Lakes, Laguna Azul, the Condor’s Viewpoint or Cascada Paine, to name just a few of the many highlights of Torres del Paine. For a gentler start to your time here, perhaps a spot of fly fishing or wildlife watching, unwinding around the secluded grounds of your lodge or a Torres del Paine lake. The drive from Puerto Natales to El Calafate is a scenic one, taking roughly 4 hours and passing open plains, distant mountains and icy lagoons along the way. Day 12 | El Calafate/Buenos Aires

Depending on the time of your flight from El Calafate to Buenos Aires, time can be spent at leisure either heading out on a morning hike, enjoying a boat ride on Lake Argentino, or simply admiring the views from your hotel with a good book. Later, you’ll be transferred to the airport and onward back to the capital for an evening of fine dining, taking in a theatre production or one last tango show.
